The Giants banked a tidy surplus when Bo Nix lasted to the Round 2 slot, a few spots past his grade.
For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Every board in the league had Jones lower, and that gap is the story.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nice patience on Bo Nix, who had no business lasting to slot 39. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A tidy bit of business in No. 57, where Devontez Walker graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Mekhi Wingo at the 70th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They let Cooper Beebe come to them and pounced at Round 3, Pick 28. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board had cheaper options than Jarrian Jones at the Round 4 slot, and it noticed. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A straight-up fair deal on Cole Bishop at the 125th pick, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They went early on Austin Booker in No. 143, and the value did not follow. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Kimani Vidal at slot 185 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
