The phones were a trap the Dolphins kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.
They are betting Powers-Johnson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Phillips. The Dolphins clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 28 they get a blindside protector, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
They took Chris Braswell at par in pick 53, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Roman Wilson in the 75th overall pick, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No edge and no loss on Keith Randolph Jr. in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jaylan Ford in Round 6, Pick 11. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Andru Phillips in the 199th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A minor itch, scratched.
Christian Jones in the 203rd pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jared Wiley in pick No. 211 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No drama and no debate, Kenny Logan Jr. went about where he belonged in No. 222. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
By-the-book stuff, Jeremy Flax at pick 246 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
