The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named wide receiver, a need the 49ers walked right past. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Every board in the league had Kamara lower, and that gap is the story. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 27 they get a cornerstone up front, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Christen Miller in No. 58, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No drama and no debate, Jaishawn Barham went about where he belonged in the 127th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reach on Isaiah World in the Round 4 slot; the board had better options right there. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Mikail Kamara in the 138th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They went early on Max Llewellyn in slot 139, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
