Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Dolphins were there to profit. Brashard Smith, the No. 103 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 224th pick.

If Jefferson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
