The pick that carries the class is Cole Bishop, a safety the Giants were happy to stop sliding in pick 143. Patience, rewarded.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Rome Odunze at the 6th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Chop Robinson in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Good price on Kalen King in slot 47, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Ruke Orhorhoro at Round 3, Pick 6 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had Blake Fisher higher than pick No. 107, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cole Bishop at the 143rd pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Javon Baker in the 185th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
