The Giants spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Cooper Beebe, the No. 76 name on the board, in No. 108. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. The Giants paired the rookies with proven help, Jessie Bates III leading the way.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 26 they get an island corner, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Troy Franklin at slot 39 is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took T'Vondre Sweat at par in No. 47, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nothing to complain about; Adisa Isaac went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Blake Fisher at the 70th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taking Cooper Beebe in Round 4, Pick 8 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A clean, defensible pick in the 140th pick with a little surplus value in Theo Johnson. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A straight-up fair deal on Kendall Milton at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
