The trade table was where it all came apart. The Giants shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Landing King that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Chris Braswell in slot 39 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A quiet steal in No. 47: Ladd McConkey for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kalen King in the 70th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Ricky Pearsall in pick 74 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nothing to complain about; Dominick Puni went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Darius Robinson at the 143rd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They took Braelon Allen at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Value with a capital V on Jaylan Ford in the 185th pick, a genuine coup. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
