The Packers put a flag in the ground for Trevin Wallace, 65 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 27
In pick 25 they get an island corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 37
A clean, defensible pick in the 41st pick with a little surplus value in Jordan Morgan. A need, and now a little less of one.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · T'Vondre Sweat · DT · rank 45
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing T'Vondre Sweat in pick No. 58. The roster fit checks out.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 85
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jaden Hicks in No. 88. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 88
A tidy little value on Dominick Puni in Round 3, Pick 28, a step better than break-even. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Isaac Guerendo · RB · rank 128
Isaac Guerendo in slot 126 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 234
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trevin Wallace this early at the 169th overall pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Tanor Bortolini · C · rank 189
A quiet steal in Round 6, Pick 27: Tanor Bortolini for less than the market said. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Josh Proctor · S · rank 245
Josh Proctor at the 219th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Garret Greenfield · OT · rank 217
They will replay Garret Greenfield at pick 245 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Tyrice Knight · LB · rank 257
By-the-book stuff, Tyrice Knight at No. 255 squarely in line with his ranking. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
