There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Packers never got to the one that mattered most.
However the rest shakes out, Bethune at that price is a win they earned. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a disruptor off the edge, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jordan Morgan in No. 41. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
T.J. Tampa at slot 58 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jaden Hicks in pick 88 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Trey Benson in the 91st pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A clean, defensible pick in the 126th overall pick with a little surplus value in Javon Foster. It fills a real need, too.
Marist Liufau at Round 5, Pick 33 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Delmar Glaze in the Round 6 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A tidy little value on Garret Greenfield in Round 6, Pick 44, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tatum Bethune in the Round 7 slot. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
They let Bub Means come to them and pounced at No. 255. A need, and now a little less of one.
