The one they had to fix is still broken. The Packers left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
Lovett falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They are betting Bortolini proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A conviction pick on Edgerrin Cooper at slot 41 that the board grades a round light. A minor itch, scratched.
A slide stopped in Round 2, Pick 26, with Cooper Beebe worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
No edge and no loss on Dominick Puni in pick 88; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 3 slot, where Calen Bullock graded well above the range. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Isaac Guerendo at the 126th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tanor Bortolini well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
They robbed the room for Fabien Lovett here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They paid up for Trevin Wallace at Round 6, Pick 44 when waiting would have done the job. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
They paid sticker price for Josh Proctor in pick No. 245, and that is fine. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Bub Means in pick 255. It fills a real need, too.
