The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Rome Odunze slide 32 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get an island corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board fumbled Rome Odunze all the way to the 41st overall pick, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Zach Frazier in No. 58 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Patrick Paul in slot 88, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Fair-plus on Khyree Jackson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Isaac Guerendo is a better player than the 126th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Justin Eboigbe in pick 169 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They paid sticker price for Nathaniel Watson in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Nothing to complain about; Josh Proctor went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
