They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Commanders' quarterback, full stop. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
However the rest shakes out, Wilson at that price is a win they earned. They are betting Suamataia proves the room right and everyone else wrong. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 2 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
A big swing on Kingsley Suamataia at the Round 2 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kool-Aid McKinstry at pick 40. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A linebacker of that caliber at No. 67 is the definition of value, full stop. A minor itch, scratched.
Zak Zinter at Round 4, Pick 1 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A clean, defensible pick in the 103rd overall pick with a little surplus value in Brenden Rice. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Tommy Eichenberg in the 138th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
They took Khristian Boyd at par in pick No. 181, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Good price on Josh Proctor in No. 220, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
