Green Bay Packers

No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Packers.

Nobody had Hunter Nourzad this high, and it is not close. The Packers reached 59 spots to get him at the Round 4 slot. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Landing Verse that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Jared Verse · DE-EDGE · rank 11
In the Round 1 slot they get a premier pass rusher, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Tyler Nubin · S · rank 39
No drama and no debate, Tyler Nubin went about where he belonged in the 41st overall pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R2.28 · Pick 60 · Max Melton · CB · rank 63
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Max Melton. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Austin Booker · DE-EDGE · rank 82
Austin Booker at pick No. 88 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.33 · Pick 96 · Trey Benson · RB · rank 96
Trey Benson in slot 96 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 167
Value said wait; Kamal Hadden in Round 4, Pick 27 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R4.29 · Pick 129 · Hunter Nourzad · C · rank 188
Hunter Nourzad in the 129th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
R5.16 · Pick 152 · Luke McCaffrey · WR · rank 165
The board had cheaper options than Luke McCaffrey at No. 152, and it noticed. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 164
A tidy little value on Isaiah Davis in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.29 · Pick 204 · Steele Chambers · LB · rank 191
Steele Chambers slid further than he should have, and Round 6, Pick 29 is lovely value for the linebacker. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Tyler Owens · S · rank 228
A premium they did not need to pay, Tyler Owens a notch or two before his time. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Sam Hartman · QB · rank 283
Sam Hartman at pick No. 243 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Ro Torrence · CB · rank 266
A reach on Ro Torrence in slot 251; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
