The rest of the league will want that one back. Kiran Amegadjie tumbling to the Packers in slot 88 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Morgan at No. 25 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in the 48th overall pick: Quinyon Mitchell for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in pick No. 57, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They barely believed it either: Kiran Amegadjie still on the board at Round 3, Pick 25. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board fumbled Blake Corum all the way to pick 91, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Audric Estime in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tommy Eichenberg at slot 126 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Luke McCaffrey at the 168th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
Somehow Curtis Jacobs was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 28, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Erick All. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They will replay JD Bertrand at No. 216 for years; that is how good the value is. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Mark Perry at pick 243 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
Steal is underselling it; Steele Chambers at the 251st pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
