The Dolphins' one glaring miss is quarterback, a need they left exactly as they found it. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Every board in the league had Sweat lower, and that gap is the story. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, though they paid up to get him. The biggest hole, addressed.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kingsley Suamataia. It fills a real need, too.
A premium they did not need to pay, Sedrick Van Pran a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board had cheaper options than Layden Robinson at Round 5, Pick 22, and it noticed. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jha'Quan Jackson at the 184th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They liked Evan Williams enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 198. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
LaDarius Henderson in the Round 7 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
