Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Bishop.
They will need Ratledge to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick-by-Pick
Jayden Daniels at the 6th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Rome Odunze in slot 38, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Troy Fautanu in the 44th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No drama and no debate, Kalen King went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 15. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Tate Ratledge at pick No. 106 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They let Shemar Turner come to them and pounced at No. 143. A need, and now a little less of one.
They will replay Cole Bishop at pick 184 for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
