There is reaching, and then there is Lander Barton at No. 168. The Bills jumped the board by 64 and dared it to prove them wrong. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Roush. That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Job largely done: linebacker settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered. The dealing was even money, start to finish.
Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 26 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
By-the-book stuff, Treydan Stukes at No. 91 squarely in line with his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
The board fumbled Sam Roush all the way to pick 126, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No drama and no debate, Albert Regis went about where he belonged in Round 5, Pick 25. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A wild overpay on Lander Barton in the 168th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Ephesians Prysock in slot 182 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
