The Keaton Bills pick is the one that will follow the Dolphins into the fall. They took him 42 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. More want than need.
Patrick Paul in No. 60 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It fills a real need, too.
Isaiah Adams at pick No. 134 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Tanor Bortolini at pick 158 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Fair-plus on Isaiah Williams, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A wild overpay on Keaton Bills in Round 6, Pick 23, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Josh Proctor in the 241st pick is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
