The Commanders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Woody Marks fell into slot 238. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They are betting Kiser proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Alfred Collins at the 61st pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They liked Ozzy Trapilo enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 75. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jordan Burch at the 79th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
No drama and no debate, Jaylin Noel went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 35. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Mason Taylor in pick No. 112 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jack Kiser at the Round 5 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Alijah Huzzie in No. 207 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Steal is underselling it; Woody Marks at pick 238 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Thor Griffith well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
