The rest of the league will want that one back. Jake Majors tumbling to the Cowboys in slot 168 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Parr to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Somehow Jalon Walker was still sitting there in Round 2, Pick 23, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They let Denzel Burke come to them and pounced at pick No. 78. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board fumbled Alfred Collins all the way to the 86th pick, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Devin Neal at pick 148 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
Taking Jake Majors in No. 168 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Keon Sabb at the Round 5 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
You do not let a linebacker like Smael Mondon Jr. reach the 171st overall pick and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Oronde Gadsden II in Round 6, Pick 14 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board had cheaper options than Logan Parr at the 209th overall pick, and it noticed. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Garrett Dellinger in the Round 7 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
