Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Darius Robinson at the 143rd overall pick is 55 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Kaden Elliss gives the group a proven body among the projects.
However the rest shakes out, Hopper at that price is a win they earned.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 9th pick they get juice off the edge at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
No edge and no loss on Kamari Lassiter in pick 38; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Kalen King at pick No. 41 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Leonard Taylor III went about where he belonged in slot 70. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Roman Wilson in Round 4, Pick 6 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
By-the-book stuff, Tory Horton at No. 109 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Darius Robinson this early at the 143rd overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Ty'Ron Hopper at pick No. 184. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They took Omar Speights at par in slot 227, which is nothing to complain about. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
They paid up for Sam Hartman at No. 249 when waiting would have done the job. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
