When the story of this class is written, it opens with Darius Robinson at the Round 5 slot, a reach of 53 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
They banked enough surplus on Pearsall to cover a lot of smaller sins. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
John Franklin-Myers gives the group a proven body among the projects.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a problem off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
No drama and no debate, Kamari Lassiter went about where he belonged in the 38th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Brian Thomas Jr. a notch or two before his time. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
TreVeyon Henderson at pick 70 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
By-the-book stuff, Sedrick Van Pran at No. 72 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They paid sticker price for Cam Hart in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid up for Ben Sinnott at Round 5, Pick 7 when waiting would have done the job. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Darius Robinson. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Steal is underselling it; Malachi Moore at pick No. 184 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Sam Hartman at No. 227 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the Round 7 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
