Hard to follow the map here. The Packers bypassed quarterback, running back and other spots to take Cole Bishop at pick 135, a spot they had covered. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. The Bishop pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
The Turner steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Dallas Turner in No. 40, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Cooper DeJean at slot 51 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Rod Moore. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A tidy little value on Marist Liufau in the 88th overall pick, a step better than break-even. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Roman Wilson at Round 4, Pick 19 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
