Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Ravens were there to profit. Logan Jones, the No. 91 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 121.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The Tre' Harris pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a cornerstone up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In the 23rd overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Joshua Josephs at pick No. 38 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They read the board right and D'Angelo Ponds was the payoff at Round 2, Pick 30. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No edge and no loss on Skyler Bell in No. 86; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They barely believed it either: Logan Jones still on the board at pick 121. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Aamil Wagner in slot 173 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
