Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens robbed the room for Jones. Final grade: B+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Ravens were there to profit. Logan Jones, the No. 91 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 121.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The Tre' Harris pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.22 · Pick 22 · Monroe Freeling · OT · rank 26
In the 22nd pick they get a cornerstone up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R1.23 · Pick 23 · Olaivavega Ioane · OG · rank 22
In the 23rd overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.6 · Pick 38 · Joshua Josephs · DE-EDGE · rank 44
Joshua Josephs at pick No. 38 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R2.30 · Pick 62 · D'Angelo Ponds · CB · rank 47
They read the board right and D'Angelo Ponds was the payoff at Round 2, Pick 30. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.22 · Pick 86 · Skyler Bell · WR · rank 88
No edge and no loss on Skyler Bell in No. 86; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.21 · Pick 121 · Logan Jones · C · rank 91
They barely believed it either: Logan Jones still on the board at pick 121. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.33 · Pick 173 · Aamil Wagner · OT · rank 173
Aamil Wagner in slot 173 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.1 · Pick 182 · Jeff Caldwell · WR · rank 189
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jeff Caldwell. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.4 · Pick 220 · Jaren Kanak · TE · rank 227
No drama and no debate, Jaren Kanak went about where he belonged in the 220th pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.34 · Pick 250 · Jaydn Ott · RB · rank 239
A quiet steal in the 250th overall pick: Jaydn Ott for less than the market said. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
