The Cardinals spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Davison Igbinosun, the No. 111 name on the board, in No. 178. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reaching for Lawson left real value on the table behind him. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th pick they get a long-term starter on the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
A conviction pick on Deontae Lawson at pick 39 that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board had cheaper options than Luke Kandra at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kevin Winston Jr. in pick No. 106 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A quarterback of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 4 is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Davison Igbinosun in the 178th overall pick, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
