The Packers ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Javon Foster at pick No. 41, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Cooper Beebe in No. 43 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Leonard Taylor III at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board had Kamren Kinchens higher than slot 73, and the safety fell to them anyway. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
