There is conviction, and then there is this. The Patriots took Jimmy Horn Jr. a full 72 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

They banked enough surplus on Neal to cover a lot of smaller sins. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
