When a board-topper like Adonai Mitchell slides to slot 55, you do not overthink it, and the Dolphins did not. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Reaching for Henderson left real value on the table behind him.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 21 they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Adonai Mitchell at pick 55 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Isaiah Adams at Round 5, Pick 22 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board fumbled Tykee Smith all the way to slot 184, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Julian Pearl at pick No. 198 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
LaDarius Henderson at the Round 7 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
