The board owed the Dolphins one, and it paid up: Kendall Milton, the No. 200 name on the board, sitting there at No. 241 like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Flournoy has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Adding Mark Andrews by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 30 they get a building block for the line at fair value. A real need, handled.
A slide stopped in the 55th overall pick, with T'Vondre Sweat worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They did well to land Kitan Oladapo in No. 158, just ahead of his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Trevor Keegan in pick 184, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
A premium they did not need to pay, Ryan Flournoy a notch or two before his time. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board fumbled Dwight McGlothern all the way to the Round 6 slot, and they scooped it up. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Circle this one: Kendall Milton at Round 7, Pick 21 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
