The Packers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending slot 131 on Brandon Coleman a full 37 spots early. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. On value alone, Bullard makes the weekend a net positive.
The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 32 they get protection for the quarterback, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jackson Powers-Johnson a notch or two before his time. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Johnny Wilson well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Javon Bullard in No. 88 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They went early on Khyree Jackson in pick 92, and the value did not follow. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kris Abrams-Draine at the 94th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board had cheaper options than Marshawn Kneeland at No. 98, and it noticed. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No drama and no debate, Will Shipley went about where he belonged in pick No. 125. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A wild overpay on Brandon Coleman in the Round 4 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cedric Gray. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on Cam Hart in the 134th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Ben Sinnott in slot 135 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A big swing on Braiden McGregor at the 169th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
