Thirty-one other rooms let Cornelius Johnson slide, and the Dolphins were the ones holding the card at Round 7, Pick 21. Highway robbery. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
Every board in the league had Keegan lower, and that gap is the story. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Somehow Troy Fautanu was still sitting there in No. 40, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Steal is underselling it; Troy Franklin at the 55th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Michael Hall Jr. at pick 66 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They did well to land Calen Bullock in the 90th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trevor Keegan this early at the Round 3 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Sataoa Laumea reach pick No. 158 and blink. They did not. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They talked themselves into Julian Pearl at Round 6, Pick 9, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Andrew Raym in slot 198, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
Circle this one: Cornelius Johnson at slot 241 is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
