You could see the war room lean forward. Kamal Hadden at slot 198 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Every board in the league had Robinson lower, and that gap is the story.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Braden Fiske at the 55th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Christian Mahogany at pick 91 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
No edge and no loss on Johnny Wilson in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Layden Robinson in pick No. 158, miles early. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They paid sticker price for Tanor Bortolini in the 184th pick, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Kamal Hadden at Round 6, Pick 23 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
