Call it larceny. Quinshon Judkins sat on the board until the 170th pick, and the Cowboys did not need to be asked twice. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The White pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a weapon on the perimeter at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Circle this one: Jalon Walker at the 44th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tyler Warren at Round 3, Pick 14 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Cam Skattebo at No. 148 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Somehow Oronde Gadsden II was still sitting there in the Round 5 slot, and they pounced on premier tight end value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A running back of that caliber at the 170th pick is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Keon Sabb in pick No. 171 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Taking Carson Schwesinger in pick 189 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
DJ Campbell in the 209th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Aydan White this early at pick 248. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
