The war room fell hard for Zion Logue, and it showed at No. 174: 67 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
If Payton Wilson and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th overall pick they get a green-dot type in the middle, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
No drama and no debate, T'Vondre Sweat went about where he belonged in pick No. 56. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Edefuan Ulofoshio in the Round 3 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They reached into another round for Curtis Jacobs, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Zion Logue at Round 5, Pick 38 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Donell Harris Jr.. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A big swing on Jayson Jones at No. 245, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
