The Dolphins cashed the board's mistake on Fisher: B.

Whoever sat across the table from the Dolphins should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Getting Fisher where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

The Taylor III reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.23 · Pick 55 · Ruke Orhorhoro · DT · rank 55
A straight-up fair deal on Ruke Orhorhoro at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Zach Frazier · C · rank 61
Zach Frazier in pick No. 58 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R3.9 · Pick 73 · Brandon Dorlus · DE-EDGE · rank 81
A reach for Brandon Dorlus in No. 73; a little patience would have been rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.26 · Pick 89 · Blake Fisher · OT · rank 70
Blake Fisher in pick 89 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Leonard Taylor III · DL · rank 100
The board had cheaper options than Leonard Taylor III at the 91st pick, and it noticed. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 126
No edge and no loss on Cedric Gray in the 125th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.21 · Pick 157 · Kalen King · CB · rank 140
A slide stopped in No. 157, with Kalen King worth more than the price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R5.22 · Pick 158 · Justin Eboigbe · DL-EDGE · rank 150
Justin Eboigbe at pick No. 158 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.8 · Pick 183 · Sione Vaki · S · rank 169
They read the board right and Sione Vaki was the payoff at the 183rd pick. A minor itch, scratched.
R6.22 · Pick 197 · Jordan Jefferson · DT · rank 186
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jordan Jefferson at the Round 6 slot is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.25 · Pick 200 · Cornelius Johnson · WR · rank 187
Cornelius Johnson is a better player than Round 6, Pick 25 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
