The Packers bet big and early on Tahj Washington, 145 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right.
The Nubin value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Brian Thomas Jr. at the Round 1 slot, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Tyler Nubin at the 41st overall pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They went early on Payton Wilson in No. 57, and the value did not follow. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A wild overpay on Ray Davis in pick 88, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jarrian Jones at pick No. 91 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Fair-plus on Darius Robinson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good price on Javon Foster in the Round 4 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
