Call it larceny. Dwight McGlothern sat on the board until pick No. 241, and the Dolphins did not need to be asked twice.
So much rides on J.J. McCarthy that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Robinson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 27 they get a passer to set the clock by. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Chris Braswell in No. 55 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Kingsley Suamataia in the 87th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid up for Christian Mahogany at pick 90 when waiting would have done the job. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They reached a country mile for Layden Robinson at the 138th pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Tanor Bortolini in No. 158, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Malik Mustapha at pick No. 184 is the proof. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Isaiah Williams is a better player than Round 6, Pick 23 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They will replay Dwight McGlothern at slot 241 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor need, but a need all the same.
