The Packers did not so much draft JD Bertrand as overpay for him, 54 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. A weekend to file away and forget, and an F to match.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Brade pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. They banked enough surplus on Tampa to cover a lot of smaller sins.

There is no soft landing here; this class has to massively overperform just to matter.
