They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Sedrick Van Pran, 23 picks early at No. 69.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 5 they get a security blanket over the middle. A real need, handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Chop Robinson at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Sedrick Van Pran at the 69th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Donovan Edwards. A need, and now a little less of one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Ben Sinnott a notch or two before his time. It fills a real need, too.
Good price on Sam Hartman in slot 183, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Cody Schrader in pick No. 226 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
