Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Dolphins spent pick 123 on Layden Robinson, a name most had 53 spots down the list. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Abrams-Draine pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
Braden Fiske in the 59th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Sedrick Van Pran at the 88th pick is the proof. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No edge and no loss on Johnny Wilson in slot 120; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Layden Robinson in No. 123 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Taking Kris Abrams-Draine in Round 4, Pick 27 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Kitan Oladapo at Round 5, Pick 22 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Joe Milton III at the 163rd overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
