Thirty-one other rooms let Kalen King slide, and the Dolphins were the ones holding the card at No. 198. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. Keegan has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Bralen Trice in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No edge and no loss on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in pick 87; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Trevor Keegan at Round 4, Pick 26 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They jumped the gun on Layden Robinson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
You do not let a wide receiver like Tyrone Tracy Jr. reach the 169th pick and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
By-the-book stuff, Delmar Glaze at the 184th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Circle this one: Kalen King at pick No. 198 is a fall that decides a draft. A minor need, but a need all the same.
