The war room fell hard for Steven Parker, and it showed at pick No. 250: 129 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. However the rest shakes out, Woodson at that price is a win they earned. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The Jaylen Watson deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 31st overall pick they get a potential shutdown corner, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jared Ivey at the Round 2 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid up for Ozzy Trapilo at Round 3, Pick 15 when waiting would have done the job. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Nick Nash. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached into another round for Teddye Buchanan, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They barely believed it either: Craig Woodson still on the board at No. 238. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A wild overpay on Steven Parker in No. 250, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
