Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Dolphins never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.
Elliss falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Robinson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value.
A straight-up fair deal on Ricky Pearsall at Round 2, Pick 27, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Christian Mahogany at slot 88 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Calen Bullock at the 90th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They barely believed it either: Jonah Elliss still on the board at No. 108. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They liked Christian Jones enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 123. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They took Ben Sinnott at par in No. 127, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A conviction pick on Layden Robinson at the 158th pick that the board grades a round light. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Kamal Hadden slipping to the 184th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
