Boards are made to be trusted, and the Chargers shredded theirs for Cody Schrader. He came off 55 spots early, and the room will hear about it. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They banked enough surplus on Holker to cover a lot of smaller sins.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 5th overall pick they get a mismatch in the passing game at fair value. A real need, handled.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, T'Vondre Sweat well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid a round early for Blake Corum in No. 69, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Cade Stover. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They read the board right and Dallin Holker was the payoff at slot 142. A need, and now a little less of one.
