The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named tight end, a need the Chiefs walked right past. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The Wilson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th overall pick they get a potential shutdown corner, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Kingsley Suamataia in slot 60 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Johnny Wilson is a better player than Round 3, Pick 29 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They paid sticker price for Cole Bishop in pick No. 128, and that is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
Grayson Murphy in No. 161 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
