The rest of the league will want that one back. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren tumbling to the Chargers in the Round 3 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. If Delp pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Olaivavega Ioane at No. 22 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Caleb Banks at pick No. 55. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the 86th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
The board had cheaper options than Oscar Delp at pick 123, and it noticed. The roster fit checks out.
They read the board right and Taylen Green was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
