The Ravens spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: D'Angelo Ponds, the No. 47 name on the board, in Round 3, Pick 8.
That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No edge and no loss on Zion Young in pick No. 41; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Dillon Thieneman in the Round 2 slot, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
D'Angelo Ponds at the 72nd pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Elijah Sarratt in No. 83. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Connor Lew at pick 91 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A quiet steal in slot 103: Skyler Bell for less than the market said. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nothing to complain about; Skyler Gill-Howard went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
John Michael Gyllenborg at pick 235 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
