Call it belief, call it a gut call, but T'Vondre Sweat at the 37th overall pick is 20 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. On value alone, Wilson makes the weekend a net positive.
On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a red-zone target to build around. A clean fit for the roster.
A wild overpay on T'Vondre Sweat in No. 37, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Blake Corum at the 69th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Roman Wilson in Round 4, Pick 5. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They jumped the gun on Darius Robinson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Sam Hartman in pick 183 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It fills a real need, too.
They liked Cody Schrader enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 226. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
