Call it larceny. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren sat on the board until slot 89, and the Chargers did not need to be asked twice. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Caleb Banks in the 55th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at No. 89 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They will replay Sam Hecht at the 116th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Value with a capital V on Davison Igbinosun in pick No. 129, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A quiet steal in the Round 6 slot: Taylen Green for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Chase Roberts slid further than he should have, and pick 229 is lovely value for the wide receiver. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
