Thirty-one other rooms let Kaden Wetjen slide, and the Bears were the ones holding the card at the 239th overall pick. Highway robbery. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They are betting World proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a disruptor off the edge, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They robbed the room for Anthony Hill Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A.J. Haulcy slipping to slot 60 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Domonique Orange in the Round 3 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid a round early for Isaiah World in the 127th pick, more than the board wanted. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A reach for Taylen Green in the 170th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Kaden Wetjen in pick No. 239 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
